Economic Survival Skill: Expand Your Network of Information Sources
Although I do unearth quite a bit of the material that appears on this site through my own efforts (and by way of Google, of course), I also rely on a number of blogs and "aggregator" sites that feature lots of links to interesting material that I would likely have a hard time finding on my own.
In my view, one of the best of the "alternative" news aggregators (if that is the correct term) is What Really Happened, which is edited by Mike Rivero. Interestingly, that is where I found the following little nugget, "Network TV Public Attitudes: Believability of Network News Outlets" , which, while slightly dated, may go some way towards explaining why I am a big believer in checking and having access to as broad a cross-section of mainstream and non-tradtional information sources as possible.
Believe all or most of what organization says

...And i'm just going to estimate that Fox News is listed in the white part to the right of CBS news.

WRH is my only source for news. I pop on the radio occasionally to get some laughs. After reading WRH for a few years, we can see through the crap--see any threatening speedboats lately?

WRH is tops... but Steve Quayle's site also captures some interesting news.

Almost forgot...
Rawstory.com is also a good aggregator

Mike's got a great blog, read it daily. Don't always agree, and he does ignore articles that contradict his anti-Gore obsession, but in all, very well run.

I've read them all; Mike Rivero is still the best.

I've been reading WRH for three or four years now. Their Gloval Warming Denial is humorous, their rampant anti-semitism is offensive, but they do come up with some gems. My never-fail reads are antiwar dot com and Juan Cole's "Informed Comment". Cole demonstrates how one can be anti-Zionist without being anti-semitic.

From most of the above comments, I'm thinking that perhaps readers of this blog aren't tv watchers. I don't own a tv--my news is all online (I prefer foreign newspaper sites, not aggregators). The difference in how one chooses to be informed has interesting implications.

To me the Red Badge of courge is any US site or pub that give Norman Finkelstein a fair hearing—even if it only to contest him. Before I read the Euro sites I just assumed he was a holocaust-denying screwball.
As it happens, his books aren't bad at all, and often quite sardonically funny. And, hey, anyone Dershowitz hates must have some good in him.
The reparations fiasco has some great stories in it—greed, betrayl, jaw-dropping bad taste— and has the merit of being uneneding. Moreover, Finkelstein's enemies are now hijacking some of his findings and arguments. Then there was tenure atrocity at DePaul. Operatic!
