ah yes the middle class a creation of Capitalism,is now in the process of being destroyed, why? because it no longer serves the purpose of accumulating wealth for the corporate structure to grow and expand corporations must find cheaper labor and ho yes they have found it in china and India

The Middle Class isn't being ignored. It is being pandered to. That's why our gasoline taxes are so low, why there is no national sales and why Obama and Clinton say they will only raise taxes on "the rich". Unfortunately, the pandering often backfires. The government's ethanol program has been good for a few thousand Iowa farmers but has been a disaster for Middle Class food budgets, my own included. I would have more respect for both Democratic candidates if they stopped talking about raising taxes on the rich and started talking about shrinking the defense budget: closing bases in Asia, Europe and the US. Many Middle Class families are going to be hit with an income tax increase in 2009, even though they don't consider themselves part of "the rich". When the Democrats eliminate the dividend and capital gains tax breaks, they will also be eliminating them for the Middle Class. Where will the money go? To prop up the bloated defense establishment. As a recent Janes report on US military spending noted, defense contractors will do well under either a Democratic or Republican administration.

The word "tax" should be added after "national sales" in my comment above.
