The scariest part of this is yet to come. $55+ Trillion in credit default swaps out there and if any highly leverage firm (i.e. GM) goes bankrupt the reverberations will be massive.

I reviewed Nouriel Roubini's recent comments about a prolonged recession on my blog today. One issue that is getting overshadowed by the credit market turmoil is the coming resets of tons of Alt-A and Option ARM mortgages from vintages where nearly all of them are underwater. We have a lot to get through before this gets better.

According to Albert Einstein 3 major forces rule the world:
stupidity, fear & greed.May I add another one.....PROGRAMING
the human mind , implanting belief at an very early age,its
a major stumbling block to learning be it in religion, science,
ethics or economics, a lot of people would rather die than give up
a belief, there is more than one school of economics just as there
is more than one religion, check them out,get rid of your prejudices,
it will be a better world, for the record I have no religion or master
and I don't adhere to group thinking.

"Well, as we've seen over the past year, it was those who believed in never-ending nirvana who were caught up in the ridiculous visions of a two-bit hack writer."

And now? Looks like the Pollyannas have gone into hiding.
