You can't do that much to produce, more to meat, but quite a lot to anything prepared. I'd suspect that food cheapening, but probably not outright adulteration, is going to become fairly common for pre-packaged foods. Cereal boxes are already getting narrower, and peanut butter jars have deep indents on the base, rather than flat bottoms. Neither of these are wrong, per se, but they show how much pressure manufacturers are already under. It seems likely that a typical frozen dinner is soon going to contain a lot more water and low grade filler.
