As sad as this is, it doesn't come as much of a shock. San Francisco is little more than an overpriced third world toilet - I should know, I've lived here for ten years. Crime, drugs, and prostitution run rampant. Even a dump of a studio runs you $1500 - I am amazed we've held up this long.

I know the "pawn shop" you're referring to. Sadly, what you don't mention is that it's also located just a block from one of San Francisco's most destitute, crack-infested neighborhoods. So the Muffys trying to hawk their valuables have competition in the form of the local hoods scrounging up cash for their habits.

This cannot end well for my fair city.

Sold a Rolex watch to make a Lexus payment. That about sums it all up. No further comments needed!

If we're all sub-prime now, then soon we will all be third-world, too.

you got a diamond ring,
you better pawn it babe"

3 couples sharing a 3 bedroom rental.

That screams out massive deflation in rental demand. Knife catching investors who are picking up foreclosures because they "cash flow" will be sorely disappointed.

>Even a dump of a studio runs you $1500

You obviously haven't been around much. See what $1500/month will get you in New York.

"She needed the money, she said, to make her Lexus payment."

These people deserve everything they get.

Good luck, \ˈgu̇d ˈlək\, a euphemism for getting away with theft.
